NIHB (Non-Insured Health Benefits) National program for First Nations and Inuit people.

NIHB currently provides 360 catheters per every 3 months. If however, you are experiencing issues like:
Urinary Tract Infections ( UTIs); Pain; Urethral damage; Bleeding; Difficulty inserting catheter. You may qualify for a better catheter option as well as more catheters per month.

How to get SpeediCath® catheters covered by NIHB:

  1. Request SpeediCath® samples by filling the form below.

  2. Talk to your doctor - ask for a prescription for SpeediCath®. SpeediCath® is single-use, so the prescription will be for 4-5 catheters per day.

  3. Ask your doctor to complete and sign the SpeediCath® support letter. Simply click here or on the link in the banner to the right, download the letter and send to your doctor. This letter outlines the issue(s) you are having and why you need to use SpeediCath®.

  4. Go to your pharmacy / catheter supplier, give them your doctor’s prescription and letter. They will complete the NIHB general MSE Prior Approval Form and submit all 3 documents to NIHB for approval. Your supplier will likely have the NIHB form, but if not, you can click here to download and print a copy.
