Questions & answers
Is the Brava® Protective Ring flexible?
The new polymer formulation makes the ring both flexible and robust at the same time. It stays firmly in place until removal, and it follows the body’s movements to accommodate an active lifestyle.
Is the ring fit for ileostomy users with an aggressive output?
Yes. Brava® Protective Ring is durable and therefore suitable for people with both an ileostomy and a urostomy. The ring is resistant to the aggressive constituents of output and its high tack makes it stick fast, which is beneficial for people where the speed of appliance changes is of importance.
Why does it come in many different sizes?
Different people with a stoma have different stoma sizes. Brava® Protective Ring comes in five different sizes and two different thicknesses to accommodate individual needs.
How to choose the right size?
The first step to find the right size is to take a look at the stoma size. The size of the stoma determines the diameter of the starter hole. Brava® Protective Ring comes in three different inner cut-out diameters, 18mm, 27mm and 34mm. Choose the inner cut-out diameter that fits best to the size of your stoma.
The second step is to look at the area around your stoma. Brava Protective Ring comes in three different diameters, 48mm, 57mm and 64 mm. Choose the size that fits best to the area around your stoma that needs protection.
The last step is to take a look at the creases and folds at the area around your stoma. The Brava Protective Ring comes in two different thicknesses, 2.5mm and 4.2mm. With only minor creases and folds, the thinner ring is the right option. For areas around the stoma that have deeper creases and folds, choose the thicker ring.
