There are a few programs available for specific populations through various Departments:

The Ostomy Subsidy Program

The Ostomy Subsidy Program administered through the Department of Health & Community Services is available to those who are eligible for prescription drug coverage through the 65Plus Plan (those 65+ who receive Old Age Security Benefits and the Guaranteed Income Supplement). The program will reimburse 75% of the retail cost of benefit ostomy supplies.

Programs for Persons with Disabilities: The Special Assistance Program

Programs for Persons with Disabilities: The Special Assistance Program – Medical equipment & supplies will cover medical supplies (such as dressings, catheters, and incontinence supplies) to assist with activities of daily living for individuals living in the community who meet the criteria. The program is administered through the Department of Health & Community Services. Individuals should contact their regional health authority

Those receiving income support through the Department of Advanced Education and Skills – Income Support can be eligible for health related services including medical supplies.
