The Ostomy Appliances Program provides financial support which is paid once a year directly to eligible individuals who have a permanent or temporary ostomy. You need to apply and have a medical prescription signed by a doctor. The financial assistance is paid out:
Permanent ostomy: Once per year
Temporary ostomy: Twice per year
The amount of financial assistance you receive will be determined according to the type of stoma (temporary or permanent).
Eligibility:
To qualify for the Ostomy Appliances Program, you must:
Be insured by the Québec Health Insurance Plan, AND
Have undergone a permanent or temporary colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy
